N-Hanced, Bewinged 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N Super Sedan Breaks Cover!

Hyundai’s N division officially rolls out its second high-performance creation to the world at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Recently, we brought you our first impressions of how a camouflaged prototype of Hyundai’s second N-branded super EV—the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N super sport sedan—handled its business out at the test track. Now we have the first shots of its new duds in the open, along with additional details and a few other tidbits about what to expect when the car officially launches.

The 6 N’s coming-out party is being held at England’s annual 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed extravaganza, an appropriate venue for a car that should prove more than capable of rocketing up the event’s famed Hillclimb course. (We hear friend of the brand Randy Pobst will be behind the wheel for its fun run up the hill.) The debut is part of a broader celebration of Hyundai’s N-branded vehicles at Goodwood, a showcase for how fast and far its performance arm has come in a little over a decade.

The burliest models in the N portfolio rely on electrification to provide their prodigious power, with the Ioniq 6 N following in the tire tracks of the 5 N SUV, a vehicle we’ve lauded as one of the most impressive performance-themed EVs on the market. Hyundai has confirmed that the 6 N will use the same powertrain as the 5 N, a dual-motor, permanent-magnet electric setup featuring 601 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque (641 hp and 568 lb-ft in 10 second bursts using the N Grin Boost feature), with juice supplied via an 84.0-kWh battery pack.

Stopping force for the 6 N will also come via the same 15.75 inch, four-piston caliper front, and 14.2-inch, single caliper rear brake setup as the 5 N, with the N Brake Regeneration feature adding up to 0.6 g (0.35 g when ABS is engaged) of regeneration force to further aid with overall braking endurance. You’ll need all that force and then some from said brakes when you’re scrubbing speeds that can reach as high as the 6 N’s stated 160-mph terminal velocity. Hyundai is quoting a 0–62-mph time of 3.2 seconds for the car, a number that seems wildly conservative considering we recorded the heavier and less aerodynamic 5 N as hitting 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds.

The Wing and Other Exterior Things

While its powertrain remains largely unchanged from the 5 N, aero is one of the biggest advantages the 6 N has over that electrified predecessor. The most noticeable enhancement is the fixed, swan-neck-style rear wing providing 220 pounds of downforce at 150 mph. Although it’s not quite as slippery as the present car, the 6 N’s claimed 0.274 drag coefficient number is still hugely impressive.

As for its overall exterior appearance, the 2026 Ioniq 6 N is being launched as part of a broader overhaul of the Ioniq 6 lineup that brings extensive changes to the front and rear of the car. Gone is the dual spoiler setup at the rear, with a single more integrated and rounded lip spoiler now the main fixture. The 6 N also gets a unique set of square block lighting elements at the back, with a blacked-out rear bumper and fascia area featuring trapezoidal accents at the edges.

The fenders of the 6 N are wider all around (1.2 inches), and the wheelbase has been lengthened a smidge (0.6 inch) to better house the 20-inch wheels and Pirelli P Zero 275/35R20 tires that were specially developed for the car. Unique rocker panels and pinstriping running around the bottom as on the 5 N add to the sporty appearance, as does a upswept character line on the profile. Up front, the running light elements have taken a wide, gun-slit look, with the main lighting tucked just below the hood. The blacked-out front grille area unique to the 6 N is highlighted by prominent blades at each end that lend it an appropriately aggressive stance.
